ANNOUNCEMENT:

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and effective Monday, March 16, the Henry County Recycling Center will be closed until further notice.


Due to the ongoing Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak and in light of the County's Resolution 20-51, Stormwater's paint recycling event on April 04 has been cancelled. A rescheduled date will be communicated in due course.


Due to ongoing concerns regarding coronavirus/COVID-19, Henry County Stormwater's rain barrel make-and-take workshop on Tuesday, March 24, has been cancelled. Your contact information will be retained, and you will be notified once a future workshop date has been ascertained.


ANNOUNCEMENT: 

The Recycling Center is open to both Henry County residents and non-Henry County  residents. 

Only Henry County residents can recycle yard debris at the fees below.

The Recycling Center will start charging on June 1st, 2019 for yard debris. Available ONLY to Henry County Residents.

The fees are as follows:

  • Pick-up or smaller vehicle = $10.00
  • Trailer (single axe) = $ 20.00
  • Trailer (double axe) = $40.00
  • Flat bed or dump trailer = $75.00
  • Dump Truck = $150.00
The Recycling Center will accept credit/debit cards only.

Please Note:

  • This facility is strictly a recycling center, and as such will not accept any trash.
  • This facility is strictly a drop-off center; we do not pick up recyclables
  • There is no fee to use the recycling center
  • Rinse all plastic/glass bottles/cans, and aluminum food trays before recycling
  • We do not reimburse/pay money to people for their recyclables
  • Shred documents/papers containing personally identifiable information and sensitive personal information before recycling. Henry County is not responsible for any papers/documents containing personally identifiable information and sensitive personal information.

Only Henry County residents can recycle yard debris. No yard debris from commercial landscapers and contractors will be accepted. Commercial landscapers must go to the landfill or transfer stations. Henry County residents must show a valid Driver’s License as proof of residency for yard debris disposal.


Recyclables We Accept

Items must be separated as follows:

  • Electronics: Download list of accepted Electronics (PDF)
  • Clear/brown (amber)/green glass
  • Tin cans
  • Plastics #1, such as juice, soda, and water bottles
  • Plastics #2 such as milk jugs and liquid detergent bottles
  • Aluminum foil (food residue free), cans, and food trays
  • Cardboard & paperboard like cereal, cracker, and pasta boxes (remove plastic windows on pasta boxes)
  • Office paper. No toilet paper, paper towels, and tissues
  • Newspaper, telephone books, and magazines
  • Acid-based batteries, such as those from a car, motorcycle, or lawnmower
  • Motor oil
  • Residential cooking oil
  • Scrap metal - such as lawn mowers (please remove fuel), wire hangers, and appliances such as washers, dryers, hot water heaters, refrigerators, ovens, and microwaves
  • Live Christmas Trees
  • Yard debris like clippings, prunings, branches, limbs, grass, leaves, from private residents only. No yard debris from commercial landscapers and contractors will be accepted. Commercial landscapers must go to the landfill or transfer stations. Only Henry County residents can recycle yard debris. Henry County residents must show a valid Driver’s License as proof of residency for yard debris disposal.
  • The fees for yard debris are as follows (debit/credit cards only):

    • Pick-up or smaller vehicle = $10.00
    • Trailer (single axe) = $ 20.00
    • Trailer (double axe) = $40.00
    • Flat bed or dump trailer = $75.00
    • Dump Truck = $150.00

  • Wood debris will be accepted Mondays through Fridays until 4:45 PM & Saturdays until 1:45 PM.
