Human Resources Director - Harold Cooper
Henry County welcomed back Harold to the team December 16, 2019. Harold previously served as Assistant Director of Human Resources in August 2017. He has served in the public sector for 22 years. Harold has spent the last 12 years serving in professional HR roles in diverse work environments including government and independent school districts.
He attended Morris Brown College, where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology. Harold earned a Masters of Science Degree in Public Administration from Saint Thomas University. Additionally, he was awarded a mediation certification through the Georgia Commission of Dispute Resolution. His broad HR experience includes management and supervision of employment and training divisions, employee relations, policy and performance management programs, EEO, HR legal and regulatory compliance programs.
Harold regards his career in HR as his life’s work, he believes the most important resource in any organization are the people. He also actively serves in his community and in his church.
Originally from Miami, Florida, he and his wife Keala have lived in Conyers for the last 13 years. His greatest gifts are his wonderful wife and two amazing children.
Harold’s service to the employees of Henry County will speak for itself. He loves what he does, and he considers it an honor to serve the staff and citizens of the County. Harold looks forward to many years of service in Henry County!
