Human Resources is dedicated to meeting the needs of the County’s employees in a manner that is collaborative, results-oriented and customer-focused. Human Resources values the diversity of its 1700 employees and strategically partners with County leadership to provide quality, innovative and customer-driven human resources programs and services to support County goals. The department is responsible for the formulation and administration of HR policies; recruitment, referral and selection of applicants to fill County jobs; administration of the position classification and pay plan; and administration of employee benefits, health and wellness, employee relations, risk management and equal employment opportunity (EEO) programs.
The Department of Human Resources strives to serve as the hub of human resources expertise for Henry County by providing integrated, professional human resources services and programs, allowing the County’s leadership to focus on the day-to-day priorities associated with meeting the needs of Henry County residents.

Employees are paid every other Friday – 26 pay periods per year. Insurance premiums are deducted only 24 times a year. For specific benefit topics, please select from the categories below.
Annual Leave (vacation) is earned as follows:
- 0 months – 5 years: 10 days per year
- 6 years – 15 years: 15 days per year
- 16 years – 20 years: 20 days per year
- 21 years and over: 23 days per year
Sick Leave is earned at the rate of one day per month for a total of 12 days per year.
Employees receive nine paid holidays per year.
Insurance benefits are offered to employees working over 32 hours per week.
New employees are eligible for insurance coverage on the first day of the month following one full month of employment.
Provisions and rates are subject to change.
Dental coverage is provided free to the employee. Employees can enroll spouse and children up to age 26 for $51.28 per month.
Health Insurance-Cigna and Kaiser
The county provides life insurance for each eligible employee. The amount is equal to one year's salary.
The county provides long-term disability for each eligible employee. The benefit starts after the employee is out of work for six months and continues until age 65.
The pension program is managed by GEBCorp. Employees are required to contribute a percentage of annual salary for the Defined Benefit Program. Also available is an optional 457b Deferred Compensation Program.

Henry County’s E-Verify Identification Number for the Employee Eligibility Verification Program is #46460.
The E-Verify Employment Eligibility Verification Program (EEV) involves verification checks of the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) databases, using an automated system to verify the employment authorization of all newly hired employees, regardless of citizenship, after completion of the Employment Eligibility Verification Form (Form I-9). Henry County has been complying with E-Verify since July 2007.
