The Henry County Financial Services Division is responsible for creating and maintaining the "full financial records of the County," including any and all revenues, expenditures, obligations, receipts, and accounts. Further, it "shall keep a faithful account of all public work done and the expense of the same, and shall likewise keep an inventory of County property, including machinery, tools, etc., and the disposition of it, as well as the location thereof."
Finance Department
- The Accounting Section provides the County with responsive accounting and fiscal processing systems that promote public accountability and focus on customer service. The section provides technical or specialized financial and fiscal service to the County in all the different facets of accounting. This includes services in financial reporting, accounts receivable, cash collection, debt service, asset management, and general ledger maintenance.
- The Accounts Payable Section processes invoices and provides services to 30 County departments. The section develops and implements controls for the disbursement of all public funds which help make timely and accurate payments to vendors.
- The Payroll Section pays approximately 1600 employees. The section adheres to a strict schedule ensuring payroll is paid in a timely manner. Payroll is one of the most deadline-oriented sections in the County, having to meet strict processing deadlines to ensure employees receive their bi-weekly paychecks as required by law.
Lobbying
Henry County is a member of the Association County Commissioners of Georgiaand the Atlanta Regional Commission. Henry County does not employ or contract with any professional lobbyists.
