Property Tax Statements
The 2012 Property Tax Assessments were mailed on May 4, 2012. Property owners have 45 days to file an appeal and the deadline is June 18, 2012. If you have any questions regarding the assessment, please contact the Tax Assessor’s office at 770.288.7999, and press option 2.
New License Plates
The new license plates will be available in our office beginning Monday, May 7, 2012. Any license plate issued prior to December 1, 2003 and having the plate heading “Georgia…on my mind”, will be replaced at the time of registration renewal or a vehicle registered in Georgia for the first time at the county tag office. Registered vehicle owners having a license plate issued after December 1, 2003 and having the plate heading www.Georgia.gov including any vanity, prestige, veteran, college or university, or any other specialty license plate will be replaced beginning May of 2013.

 Welcome to the Henry County Tax Commissioner’s web-site.
We are one of many departments here to serve the citizens
of Henry County. It is the mission of the Tax Commissioner’s
office to collect and disburse all taxes due the State, County,
and School System in a timely manner, while also providing
excellent customer service with integrity and fairness for
all.
Over the years, the Henry County
Tax Commissioner’s office has been an instrumental part
in helping legislatures to increase Homestead exemptions for
the homeowner. We have extended the hours of operation in
the Stockbridge and McDonough offices for added convenience
in purchasing tags, paying property taxes, and filing for
homestead exemptions. Filing for homestead requires your signature
on the application at this time; however, the application
may be downloaded from our county website and mailed in to
our office. As laws change in Georgia, our office will continue
to keep you informed and will always strive to do what is
best for the citizens of Henry County.
