On Thursday October 11, 2012, Henry County Fire Department hosted the fourth Metro Atlanta Training Officers (MATO) Instructor Seminar. MATO is a section of the Metro Atlanta Fire Chief’s Association. The Seminar took place at Heritage Park on Lake Dow Road in McDonough. Sixty-six instructors attended today’s training seminar, including eight Henry County Fire Department Instructors. Students were able to earn up to 6.5 hours of accredited continuing education credit through the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Committee and the Office of Emergency Medical Services.
MATO presented their fourth semi-annual Instructor’s Seminar at no cost to participants. This once was a workshop, but has expanded to a seminar; including two 45 minute general sessions, two 2.5 hour workshop sessions, and eight 1.25 hour classroom sessions in multiple tracks, offering training for all levels of instructors. The seminar is geared for all company officers, instructors and managers at every level to enhance delivery, development, and design of training and training programs.
