Henry County Advocates "Extending the Vision: Reaching Every Victim"
2012 National Crime Victims' Rights Week
April 22-28, 2012
April 22, 2012, begins National Crime Victims' Rights Week, a time to honor crime victims and our nation's progress in advancing their rights. This year's theme, “Extending the Vision: Reaching Every Victim” celebrates the vision behind that progress and the ideal of serving all victims of crime. Each year, local Henry County agencies join together to host activities in recognition of National Crime Victims' Rights Week. This year's event combines a community awareness fair and law enforcement recognition with the annual memorial service to maximize the awareness concerning victims' rights and the services offered in Henry County. The event, to be held Thursday, April 26th, will begin with the community awareness fair at 6 p.m. lasting through the memorial service which begins at 7 p.m. The memorial service is held annually for family members who have lost loved ones to homicide. As part of this service, law enforcement agencies and individuals who have provided outstanding services to victims of crime are recognized for their willingness to go the extra mile in their service to victims of crime. The Henry County Community is encouraged to participate in this year's events and find out what services are available to victims of crime.
