How do I apply for Homestead Exemption

You can apply in person at either the McDonough or Stockbridge office, or print a form and mail it to the office. We will need driver's license numbers on all owners.

What paperwork do I need to provide in order to apply for a disability exemption?

You must provide two doctors' letters or one doctor's letter and Social Security award letter.

What if I am a new resident of Henry County and haven't received a property tax bill?

Property tax bills are mailed out to the owner as of January 1. They are mailed in mid-September. You may also get a copy online.

What happens if my bill is not paid in full by the November due date?

1% interest is added each month and one 10% penalty is added 90 days after the due date.
