Mr. John A. (Trea) Pipkin III
The Solicitor General is an attorney who is the Chief Prosecuting Officer in the State Court of Henry County, a non-partisan official who is elected every four years. The Solicitor General and his staff of Assistant Solicitors are responsible for the prosecution of misdemeanor crimes and traffic offenses committed within Henry County.
Misdemeanor offenses are crimes for which punishment can range up to one year in jail and fines up to $1000. Examples of misdemeanor crimes against other persons include Family Violence, Battery, Simple Battery, Simple Assault and Stalking. Other misdemeanor crimes against property such as Criminal Trespass (damage to the property of another under $500), Shoplifting (under $500) and Theft by Taking (under $1,500) are prosecuted by the Office of Solicitor General. Traffic offenses prosecuted range from Driving Under the Influence to simple Stop Sign violations.
As Solicitor General I am committed to the highest level of service to the citizens of Henry County. It is my goal to seek the truth in each and every case and to ensure fairness across the board to all who come before the State Court of Henry County.
