Invitation to Bid
Fairview Road Widening (Phase 1)
Sealed Bids will be received by the Henry County Board of Commissioners, Purchasing Department,140 Henry Parkway, McDonough, Georgia 30253 until 3:00 P.M. local time on October 5, 2012. Late bids will not be considered nor returned. Bids will be opened at the County Administration Building by staff personnel. Bidders and their agents are invited to attend.
The intent of this invitation to bid is to obtain competitive sealed bids from qualified vendors for Fairview Road -Phase 1, which includes grading, widening, and paving and the relocation of 0.426 miles of West Panola Road, located in Henry County, Georgia. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services required to fulfill the terms and conditions of this bid, which includes signalization. Bids will only be considered by those bidders and subcontractors currently pre-qualified with the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Plans for this project are available from the Purchasing Department, 140 Henry Parkway, McDonough, Georgia 30253 for a non-refundable fee of $100.00.
All Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid for the complete work. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to Henry County, Georgia as liquidated damages if the Bidder fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within fifteen (15) calendar days after being notified that he has been awarded the Contract. The Bid Bond shall be in the form of a surety issued bond made payable to the Henry County Board of Commissioners. The Surety Company shall be licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of the Treasury Circular 570, latest edition. The Surety Company shall have an A.M. Best Company minimum rating of “A” with a financial size of VI “6” or better.
Payment will be made monthly on completed work. Retainage will be held by Owner to a maximum of ten percent (10%) of each progress payment.
The Bidder is expected to examine the site(s) of the proposed work, the Proposal Form, Specifications, Supplemental Specifications, Special Provisions and Contract forms before submitting a bid. Qualifications of the Bidder will be reviewed before Award of the Contract.
The Work on this project shall be completed within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days after receipt of the written Notice to Proceed. All work shall be completed in accordance with Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications Construction Of Transportation Systems, 2001 Edition (as amended).
Envelopes containing the bids must be sealed, addressed to the Henry County Board of Commissioners, Purchasing Department, 140 Henry Parkway, McDonough, Georgia 30253, and marked: “Sealed Bid No. 13-07-SB”.
