Crime Scene Investigations
The Crime Scene Investigation Unit
is responsible for complex crime scene investigations;
for evaluating a scene; uses various types of equipment;
develops, secures, and packages physical evidence for scientific
evaluation and comparison; prepares detailed reports on the
observations and activities at the scene for the law enforcement
agency responsible for the investigation of the crime; testifies
in court regarding the findings and processing methods used
at the scene. The Crime Scene Investigation Unit is also responsible
for marijuana laboratory analysis, latent print examinations
and forensic photographs. The Crime Scene Investigation Unit
is on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. While the technicians
concentrate on processing the crime scene and collecting evidence,
the Detectives are able to focus on the aspects of the criminal
investigation.
