Comprehensive Land Use Plan
2030 Joint Henry County/Cities Comprehensive Plan Draft
Elements
The Henry County Board of Commissioners officially adopted the Joint Henry County/Cities 2030 Comprehensive Plan on March 17, 2009. On April 20, 2009, the Board made minor amendments to the Plan and Future Land Use Map. The Comprehensive Plan, Unified Land Development Code (ULDC) and the Official Zoning Map have been adopted and are in effect as of the Board of Commissioners' meeting on September 15, 2009.
The Comprehensive Plan was a major initiative that engaged its citizens in a collaborative effort to ultimately create more vibrant and livable communities in Henry County. A team of consultants worked with County and City staff, residents and other interested stakeholders to prepare a comprehensive plan and new ordinances that guide the future growth and preservation of one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. Also, this summer, the Unified Land Development Code (ULDC) will be adopted by the Board, as well. The ULDC will implement the goals and policies of the Joint Henry County/Cities 2030 Comprehensive Plan.
