MORATORIUM ON GROUND SIGNS
The sixty (60) day moratorium pertaining to ground signage enacted by the Henry County Board of Commissioners on February 5, 2013 was extended by the Board of Commissioners during its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. The moratorium will remain in effect and will be discussed by the Board of Commissioner on May 21, 2013. Until the moratorium is lifted ground sign applications and permits will not be accepted or issued for properties within unincorporated Henry County. This moratorium does not apply to wall, window, awning, roof and/or temporary signs.

Our Mission
The mission of the Planning and Zoning
Department is to effectively manage community change in the
short and long term with regards to land use, transportation,
historic preservation and overall development, in order to
create a sustainable, livable, and economically successful
future for the citizens of Henry County.
The means by which the Planning and Zoning Department is to
effectively manage community change is the comprehensive
review and approval of all developments within the City of
Stockbridge and unincorporated areas of Henry County. In addition,
the Planning and Zoning Department interprets and implements
the goals and objectives of the Joint Comprehensive Development
Plan and interprets the regulations and requirements of the
Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances.
