Henry County Parks and Recreation
Offers Summer Day and Teen Camps
The end of another school year will be here before we know it and what better way to keep your children busy, safe and happy all summer long than by participating in Henry County Parks and Recreation’s Summer Day and Teen Camps?
The Henry County Parks and Recreation Department is once again offering a Summer Day Camp and a Teen Camp, both promising to be fun-filled, summer experiences. Field trips for the Day Camp include a Braves game, the World of Coke, Fun Junction, Chick-fil-A, Medieval Times and Sky Zone. Children in the Day Camp will also enjoy swimming at High Falls State Park. Field trips for campers with the Teen Camp will enjoy weekly outings twice a week to fun excursions like Six Flags and Six Flags White Water as well as trips to Fun Junction, Malibu Grand Prix, World of Coke, tubing in Helen, Fun Bowl and Sky Zone.
Camps begin June 3 and continue all summer long until August 2. Day camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each weekday and is for children ages 5 to 12. Teen Camp is for ages 13 to 15 and runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be no camp the week of July 1-5. Camps will be held at Heritage Park in McDonough, the Locust Grove Recreation Center in Locust Grove,
J. P. Moseley Recreation Center in Stockbridge, the Fairview Recreation Center in Stockbridge and Nash Farm Park in Hampton.
These camps are one of the most affordable camps in the metro area. Each week of Day Camp costs just $100 and $90 for each additional child in the family, and the fee includes all of the field trips and activities. Teen Camp is $65 and parents must purchase a Combo Park Season Pass to Six Flags/White Water for an additional $74.99 plus tax, which may be purchased online at https://content.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/tickets/seasonpass/. The other field trips are included in the camp fee. Families may register for any or all weeks of camp, but space is limited.
Registration is open and is being held Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Heritage Park or any of the recreation centers mentioned above. For more information, call Henry County Parks and Recreation at 770.288.7300 or visit www.hcprd.org.
