Park Maintenance
Park Maintenance employees provide both routine maintenance and special improvements to parks and other areas. Crews perform a variety of routine tasks such as general landscape maintenance, maintaining athletic fields, trash pick up and removal, and restroom cleaning.
Did you know…..?
Park Maintenance maintains more than 26 playgrounds across the county.
Nearly 9 miles of walking trails are maintained in more than 1162 acres of parkland managed by Henry County Parks and Recreation.
Tennis players will find 23 tennis courts throughout the county.
Picnics are easy at one of the 19 pavilions and the maintenance staff cares for picnic tables that are located at each pavilion.
Don’t trash Henry County! Please use one of the 300 trash barrels provided for your convenience.
There are 81 athletic fields in the County’s park system. Many have Athletic Associations that use the fields extensively, and those groups help take care of the grooming of fields from February through November. However, Park Maintenance is responsible for mowing all fields outside of the fences.
Park sites are mowed on seven (7), fourteen (14), or twenty-one (21) day cycles, weather permitting.
