Support Services
The
Support Services Division is responsible
for providing necessary administrative and logistical support
to all divisions within the Henry County Police Department.
The Division is comprised of the following units:
- Training Research & Development
- Records/GCIC Quartermaster
- Community Service Officers
Training
The Training Division is responsible for the training and
education of non-certified officers prior to their entrance
into the police academy. The Training Unit also provides continuous
training for all personnel.
Research & Development
The Research and Development Office is responsible for the
formalization of policy and procedure - solutions to problems
in operational areas. It provides recommendations on technology
which will improve present systems, cut costs in the long
run, and keep operations up to date.
Records/GCIC
The Records Unit is responsible for the processing and maintaining
of all documented incidents reported to the police department.
The Unit is further responsible for the storage and expunging
of documents held in storage.
Quartermaster
The Quartermaster is charged with keeping, maintaining and
organizing all departmentally owned property. The responsibilities
include: storage, proper issuance and accounting for supply
inventory and personal equipment.
Community Service Officers
The Department currently has five Community Service Officers.
These officers provide customer and non-enforcement service
to the community; provide administrative support; provide
crime prevention information and programs; provide traffic
management and control functions assigned to the Uniform Patrol
Division assist in varied aspects of duties throughout the
Department. This is not a position that authorizes individuals
to make arrests or operate marked patrol units within the Department.
