Criminal Investigations Division
Major Jason Bolton

A lifelong resident of Henry County, Jason Bolton has been with the Henry County Police Department since 1993. He worked for several years as an officer in the Uniform Patrol Division. In 1996, Bolton transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division and served as a detective. He was assigned to the Crimes Against Property Division where he investigated burglaries and thefts. He then moved to the Crimes Against Persons Division and investigated numerous types of violent crimes including rapes, robberies, child molestations and abuse, and homicides. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1999.
In 2004, Bolton was promoted to Lieutenant over the Internal Affairs Division where he served as the Internal Affairs Commander. During his tenure in this position, he was promoted to the rank of Captain. As the Commander of Internal Affairs Division, Bolton was responsible for several aspects of the police department including internal investigations, hiring and recruiting, open records requests, and Public Information Officer/media relations. September 2010, Bolton was promoted to the rank of Major and was transferred to the Support Services Division.
As the Support Services Division Commander, Major Bolton served as the Public Information Officer while commanding the Training Division, Records Division, Quartermaster, Crime Analyst, Research and Development Office, and Certification Office.
In June 2012, Major Bolton was reassigned to the Criminal Investigations Division.
