Civil Engineer III
Henry County is accepting applications for the position of Civil Engineer III in the Stormwater Management Department. This position is responsible for reviewing plans and studies submitted to the county for a Land Disturbance Permit; designing and producing construction plans and studies for the drainage, flood control and water quality portion, and related infrastructure of certain County owned projects. This position also will design and produce plans for the larger maintenance projects that the department undertakes. Designs may include converting a “wet pond” to an “engineered wetland” to help the County meet the NPDES Permit retrofit requirements, producing an E&SC plan for a sediment removal project, or preparing construction documents including sizing for a stormwater pipe replacement project. Incumbent prepares, submits and obtains permits for County LDP, USACE Nation Wide Permits, and GAEPD Buffer/Wetland Encroachment Variance Permits. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from and accredited college or university; Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Georgia or the ability to obtain it via reciprocity is preferred. A Level II certification with the GA Soil and Water Conservation Commission, ability to produce complete construction drawings, an extensive working knowledge of the Georgia Stormwater Manual is required; valid Georgia driver’s license and submit a three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report with application. Preferred qualifications include experience training and/or teaching technical subjects, including public speaking and ability to work well with general public. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying.
Salary- $63,881.79

CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER
Henry County is accepting applications for the position of Certified Police Officer in the Henry County Police Department. This position enforces laws related to the protection of life and property, directs and controls traffic, prevents crime or disturbance of peace, and arrests violators. Listed are some of the essential duties and responsibilities: They shall enforce all statutes, laws, ordinances, regulations and procedures of Department; maintains law and order, protects life and property and performing related assignments. Applicant shall become familiar with State Traffic Codes, Criminal Procedure Codes & Ordinances. Patrols assigned area on foot, by motorcycle, in patrol car, to enforce laws, prevent and discover crimes, investigate crimes, maintain order, and answer calls and complaints. Answers radio-dispatched or citizens’ request for police services at the scene of accidents, domestic disputes, law violations, and peace disturbances. Qualifications are valid Georgia driver’s licenses; must submit a three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report at time of interview; completion of police training and education as required by Georgia Law; Good moral character; Honorable discharge ONLY for persons with military service; No felony or domestic violence convictions and must be physically fit and able to perform the duties of police officer.

Mechanic I
Henry County is accepting applications for the position of Mechanic I in the Fleet Services Department. This position performs preventative maintenance work and diagnostic and corrective mechanical work of a standard nature on automobiles and diesel trucks. Incumbent may assist senior mechanics in performing related repairs on heavy equipment, fire trucks and other specialized equipment or in performing complex repair work. Qualifications include high school diploma or G.E.D., supplemented by training in automotive and diesel mechanics; possession of a valid Georgia Drivers License (CDL preferred); must submit a three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report at time of interview; two (2) years of experience in automotive or diesel engine repairs; prefer ASE and/or EVT Certification. Any equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Salary $32,204.02
