Basic Support Firefighter/Paramedic
Henry County Fire department is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. This position is responsible for administering appropriate emergency medical treatment to victims of accidents and other life-threatening situations, performing fire fighting tasks, maintaining fire equipment and vehicles, and assisting with emergency medical training. This position requires knowledge and skills in the following: Basic and advanced emergency medical and life-sustaining techniques including cardiac care, trauma and shock care, ventilation and other CPR techniques; basic algebra, pharmacology and chemistry for the administration of drug modalities; medical terminology; and knowledge of State and County life rescue procedure and practices. Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or G.E.D.; Certification as a State of Georgia Basic Firefighter (Module I) within first 12 months of employment; certification as a Georgia Paramedic; must have a valid Georgia Drivers License and must obtain a Class B endorsement within the first twelve months of employment and submit a three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report when interviewed; must satisfactorily pass state and department physical exams, and must continually complete annual certification hour requirements for Georgia certified Firefighter and Georgia certified Paramedic.
Salary $39,403.63, with earning potential of $42,566.65 including overtime

Certified Police Officer
Henry County is accepting applications for the position of Certified Police Officer in the Henry County Police Department. This position enforces laws related to the protection of life and property, directs and controls traffic, prevents crime or disturbance of peace, and arrests violators. Listed are some of the essential duties and responsibilities: They shall enforce all statutes, laws, ordinances, regulations and procedures of Department; maintains law and order, protects life and property and performing related assignments. Applicant shall become familiar with State Traffic Codes, Criminal Procedure Codes & Ordinances. Patrols assigned area on foot, by motorcycle, in patrol car, to enforce laws, prevent and discover crimes, investigate crimes, maintain order, and answer calls and complaints. Answers radio-dispatched or citizen’s request for police services at the scene of accidents, domestic disputes, law violations, and peace disturbances. Qualifications: valid Georgia driver’s license; must submit a three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report at time of interview; completion of police training and education as required by Georgia Law; good moral character; No felony or domestic violence convictions, satisfactorily explain other than honorable military discharges, and must be physically fit and able to perform the duties of police officer.
Salary - $36,523.76
