Our Mission

The mission of the Henry County Fire Department is to provide safe, professional service through education, prevention, emergency services, and community relations.

About Our Department

The Henry County Fire Department serves the currently second fastest growing county in Georgia, and the sixth fastest growing county in the United States. Home of the Atlanta Motor Speedway, renowned golf courses, and prestigious shopping facilities easily accessible along seven exits of I-75, Henry County continues attract new residents. With a population now at approximately 200,000 people and nearly triple of what it was just 15 years ago, an area of 321 square miles welcoming over 100,000 visitors daily, and a 28 mile stretch of Interstate I-75, the fire department force of 290 superbly trained professional men and women, strives to deliver the most comprehensive emergency services to the citizens and visitors of Henry County.

Responding to nearly 20,000 emergency calls annually, we operate thirteen strategically placed fire stations, thirteen engine companies, three ladder trucks, nine advanced life-support medical units, and two heavy rescue units. Highly trained technical rescue teams are in place for hazardous materials, heavy rescue, and swift water rescue situations. All emergency apparatus are staffed with Emergency Medical Technicians and/or Paramedics, and equipped with basic or advanced life support medical equipment.

Our in house Training Academy provides fire and EMS training at levels that exceed state requirements. The EMS division of the Training Academy also holds paramedic classes for personnel who desire to further their medical training.

In addition to providing fire suppression, hazardous materials mitigation and emergency medical (advanced life support) services, Henry County Fire Department provides a number of other services related to protecting the lives and property of its citizens. The prevention of fire before it starts is of paramount importance in effectively protecting life and property. Public education, annual inspection of businesses and ensuring strict code compliance on existing and newly constructed buildings are all methods utilized by Henry County Fire Department to reduce fire incidents.
