Alarm Registration
Under the County's current ordinance for false alarms, it is required that all household alarms be registered.
An unauthorized alarm occurs when the police, fire, or other County emergency department responds to an alarm where no criminal activity, fire, medical, or other emergency has occurred. If you are experiencing equipment problems, please contact your alarm company for service. Please contact Alarm Registration if you have any questions @ 770-288-7866.
Residential Fine Amounts
The fine amounts, per calendar year, for unregistered alarm systems are as follows:
- First false alarm: $75
- Second false alarm: $100
- Third false alarm: $125
The fine amounts, per calendar year, for registered alarm systems are as follows:
- First & second false alarms: No charge
- Third false alarm: $50
- Fourth false alarm: $75
- Fifth false alarm: $100
- Sixth (or more): $125
Failure to remit payment may result in your account being turned over to a collection agency. A bill will be mailed on a separate invoice when applicable.
Commercial Fine Amounts
The fine amounts, per calendar year, for unregistered alarm systems are as follows:
- First false alarm: $250
- Second false alarm: $275
- Third false alarm: $300
The fine amounts, per calendar year, for registered alarm systems are as follows:
- First & second false alarms: No charge
- Third false alarm: $200
- Fourth false alarm: $225
- Fifth (or more)false alarm: $250
