Director - Doris Patterson
Henry County Government welcomed Mrs. Doris Patterson to the County on April 25, 2016 as the new Human Resources Director. She has served for more than 25 years in the Human Resources profession in various roles and diverse work environments, including private industry, government and service sectors.
Her government experience began as a college intern while studying at California State University, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication. Doris has earned numerous accolades throughout her career, including the distinctive career certification of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) in 2005, and the SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) in 2015. Her broad HR experience includes leadership and supervision of employment and training divisions, recruitment, employee relations, policy and performance management programs, EEO, HR legal and regulatory compliance programs, safety, benefits and compensation programs, and HR budget administration.
Originally from Montgomery, Alabama, she and her husband Robert have lived in Fayetteville for more than 20 years, where they have raised three wonderful children. She also actively serves in her community and in her church.
Doris regards her life-long career in HR as a privilege, loves what she does and has a sincere passion for serving people. She looks forward to years of service to the staff and citizens of Henry County.
