The mission of the Henry County Accountability Court is to provide alternatives to incarceration for citizens who are involved in the criminal justice system as a result of mental health and/or substance abuse disorders including Veterans of the United States Armed Services. We do this by providing intense judicial supervision, clinical treatment, case management, Veterans support and law enforcement involvement to enhance public safety, reduce recidivisim (repeat offenses) and reduce costs to the community. This enables participants to remain out of jail and prison, obtain employment to be a tax payer instead of a tax burden, become community partners and restore their families and lives.
The Henry Count Accountability Court programs target adults 18 years or older who are facing felony, misdemeanor (or combination) of charges with prison or long-term jail and have severe and persistent psychiatric disorders, severe substance abuse disorders or a combination of both and also Veterans with the same disorders.
