HENRY COUNTY- November 8, 2017—The Board of Commissioners recognized the month of November as National American Indian Heritage Month with a proclamation at the regular Commission meeting.

National American Indian Heritage Month is recognized in Henry County to raise awareness on the contributions American Indians had and continue to have on America’s traditions and legacy.

The proclamation read in part, “WHEREAS, The history and culture of our great nation has been significantly influenced by American Indians and indigenous peoples…the contributions of American Indians have enhanced the freedom, prosperity and greatness of America today.”

Members of the Andrew McBride Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution were on hand to accept the proclamation on behalf of American Indians.
