MCDONOUGH, GA (May 1, 2017) - A Georgia man will spend the next 25 years in prison for molesting a young girl.

A Henry County jury found Travius Luwon Penamon, 40, guilty of aggravated child molestation today. The jury convicted Penamon of performing oral sex on an 11-year-old girl in a McDonough home in 2012.

Following the verdict, Henry County Superior Court Judge Wade Crumbley sentenced Penamon to 25 years in prison without the possibility of parole. After serving this prison sentence, the defendant will spend the remainder of his life on probation and the sex offender registry.

The jury convicted Penamon after Georgia Bureau of Investigation tests found Penamon’s DNA on the child and her clothing.

“The jury found this man is predator who violated a young girl,” District Attorney Darius Pattillo said. “This verdict brings justice to this family and shows our community will not tolerate sex offenders in Henry County.”
