HENRY COUNTY—April 19, 2017- The Board of Commissioners recognized April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month with a proclamation on April 18, at the scheduled Commission meeting.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month is a national campaign to bring awareness and educate the public on how to prevent sexual violence across the nation.
The proclamation states, “WHEREAS, Henry County stands with organizations, such as the Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center, in their outreach in supporting programs to help establish a supportive community by working together to strengthen the lives impacted by sexual abuse…”
This year’s aim for Sexual Assault Awareness Month is for individuals to use their voice to change the culture.
