Director - Melissa Robinson
Melissa Robinson is the Public Information Director for Henry County Government and the Henry County Board of Commissioners and has been a member of the Public Information Department since 2009. Under her leadership, the Department operates the Henry County Government website, publishes a subscriber-based Update newsletter and manages a variety of internal and external communications. The Department also operates Henry Television, a government-access channel that broadcasts Henry County Commission meetings, Henry County Zoning Advisory Board meetings, information screens and original programming, including the commissioner-focused show Henry Insider, the award-winning Garden Delights, a gardening and cooking show produced in cooperation with the Henry County UGA Cooperative Extension Office, and Silver Tones exercise program for homebound seniors. The Department is also responsible for handling media inquiries, press releases, coordination of communications, Public Service Announcements and special projects.
Melissa earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, and brings more than 20 years of experience in the communications field to her role with Henry County. In addition to working as an assignment reporter and contributing editor for newspapers, she worked as a copywriter, editor and public relations specialist for a communications company outside of Philadelphia.
