MCDONOUGH, GA (July 24, 2017) – The Henry County District Attorney’s Office is collecting school supplies as part of the Henry County Adopt-A-Teacher campaign.

District Attorney Darius Pattillo is supporting Connecting Henry and the Raise Me Up Foundation to help reduce the amount of funds teachers spend on school supplies. The average teacher spends about $600 of his or her own money on school supplies each year, according to the Raise Me Up Foundation.

Donations may be dropped off at the District Attorney’s Office on the second floor of the courthouse in McDonough. Donations will be collected until Aug. 28.

Teachers are in need of the following items:

Zipper pencil pouches

Index cards

Pens (blue, black, red)

Antibacterial wipes


Copy paper (white, colored)

Hand sanitizer

Colored pencils

Handheld pencil sharpener

Paper towels

Composition books

Bottled glue


Spiral notebooks



5-8 tab dividers


Kleenex tissues

Clear sheet protectors

Loose-leaf paper



Dry erase markers

Flash drives

Ear buds
