Building Department

A current Business License is required for all building and trade permits. No building or trade permits will be issued to applicants with expired Business Licenses pursuant to Henry County Code Section 3.3.22 (unincorporated) and Stockbridge City Code Sections 9.01.030 and 9.01.060.
Mission Statement
Our Mission is to promote the general health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Henry County. We strive to ensure quality and excellence in all aspects of the building permitting and inspection process for our citizens by processing applications in a timely and efficient manner and by providing thorough building and zoning compliance inspections for all construction projects. We seek to achieve these goals by placing a high-importance on customer service, knowledge of all facets of the Building Codes and our willingness to be fair and considerate in our enforcement of these codes.

The Henry County Building Department is tasked with the issuance of permits, building plan review & inspections for compliance to the ordnances, technical codes and accepted industry practices and the issuance of all certification (as required) in the following areas:
Presently, our area of jurisdiction includes all of unincorporated Henry County as well as The City of Stockbridge and the City of Hampton.
The Building Department is open to assist you from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on County holidays or mandatory furloughs.
