District
1 Commissioner Warren Holder was born and raised in Henry
County. He graduated from Henry County High School in 1968
and received an Associates in Business Administration from
Abraham Baldwin college in Tifton, Georgia in 1970. He also
attended Georgia State University.
In 1971, Warren was elected to the Locust Grove City Council,
on which he served for 17 years. In 1988, he was elected to
the Farm Service Agency Board, an office he kept until 1996.
In 1992, while still serving on the Farm Service Agency Board,
Warren was elected to the Henry County Board of Education,
and served one term. In 1996, he was elected to the Henry
County Board of Commissioners as District 1 Commissioner and
has served in this capacity ever since. Three years later,
Warren was also elected to the Board of Directors for Central
Georgia Electric Membership Cooperative, a position he still
holds today.
Warren Holder is a member of Fraternal Lodge #37 of the Scottish
Rite Masons in McDonough. He is a member of the Yaarab Shrine
Temple in Atlanta; he is a member of New Hope United Methodist
Church in Locust Grove, where he has served in numerous leadership
positions.
Warren has been married to his wife, Cindy, for 37 years.
They have two children and four grandchildren.
Warren is the owner of Warren Holder Equipment, a lawn and
garden equipment business which has been part of the Locust
Grove business community for the last 30 years.
