Henry County Animal Care & Control
If you would like to list your lost
pet, or if you would like to let us know about an animal that
has been found, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please include the following information if possible:
- A photo (no attachments over 1MB in size).
- Area the pet was found and/or where pet is now (Subdivision, Street, Town)
- If wearing a collar, what color is the collar and does it have tags
- The breed of the pet (To the best of your knowledge)
- Approximate size/weight of pet
- Any distinguishing markings
- The sex of the pet
- Contact phone number
- Contact email
The more of this information you include, the quicker your pet will be posted and the better chance you will have of someone matching the post to your pet. (If you do not want your phone number published, please request this in the email, however we do need you to provide it as Animal Care & Control may need to contact you.)
Please note that by submitting your information you understand that your information will be publicly available on the County website. Henry County Board of Commissioners is not responsible for how this information may be used outside of the scope of the Animal Care & Control lost/found pets section of the website.
Note: To ensure that the listings
are as up to date as possible, listings over 60 days will
be removed unless otherwise advised.
Animal Control will post the pictures at the shelter; however, you should take the time to physically come to the shelter at least once a week to look for your lost pet. We look at hundreds of animals each month - so their pet, while easily recognizable to them, is not so easily recognizable to us!

We found this male dog in Stockbridge near Hwy 138 and Hwy 42. He seems to be a boxer/pit bull? He is very shy but is warming up to my family. He seems really sad and depressed. Brown and white large size dog. He had been coming and going from our yard for about a week until he won't leave our yard since Friday. We did bring him in the house to keep him warm. Would love to find his owner.

Dog found in subdivision off of hwy 155 in McDonough. She was wearing a black collar. I'm not sure of the breed, but she is a medium sized dog, maybe 2 or 3 feet tall, and weighs about 35 pounds. She is a beautiful black dog, with brown paws and a brown underneath. Very friendly and housebroken. Someone must be missing this sweet baby!

We found this dog on New Year's Eve. We are currently housing him till we find his owner or a new home for him. I did take him to the vet on New Year's Day and he received a rabies shot. He has stage 3 tartar and extremely long nails. He did have dandruff issues but with getting some regular healthy dog food in his system it appears to have died down.

My mother found a female puppy (I'd guess between 1-2 years old), in her subdivision "Winslow at Eagles Landing" in McDonough, off Peach drive. She is extremely sweet... will come up to anyone.. we've been to everyone in the neighborhood. Tomorrow morning (12.16) we will go see if she is microchipped. She has been with my mom since Saturday night around 9pm. Its too cold so she has been inside and very spoiled. She whimpers and is ready to go home. Please post with these pictures!! I appreciate it.. you can reach my mom at the number or email below.

My wife and I were driving home Sunday evening and found the female dog described below wandering Stagecoach Road. We are sending you this information in case the owner has or will contact you about the dog. The area is in Henry County but not so far from the Clayton County line either. Our work schedules have not provided us with the opportunity to bring to the dog to a shelter this week but we will do so when possible. Please confirm receipt of this message and feel free to contact us if needed.
